Music, defined by Wikipedia as an "art form and cultural activity whose medium is sound organized in time", has been used by Rogue Podron to introduce and end the show, as well as to punctuate dramatic readings

Regular music[]

For most episodes of the first eleven seasons, both the introductory and closing pieces are excerpts from the track "The Battle of Endor 3", included in most editions of the Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi soundtrack. The introductory music is an excerpt that begins at 20 seconds into the track, and is a reprise of the frenetic space battle motif that debut in the track "Ben's death/TIE fighter attack" from the Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope soundtrack; in the film, it accompanies a space combat sequence where fighter craft of the Rebel Alliance penetrate the defenses of the second Death Star. The outro music is an excerpt that begins at approximately 5:31 in the track; in the film, this music accompanies Lando Calrissian's and Nien Nunb's triumphant exit from the exploding second Death Star in the Millennium Falcon.

Starting with season 11, the introductory music has switched to an instrumental cover of "I Want It That Way" by Backstreet Boys, punctuated with an exuberant karaoke performance of the song by the hosts. The outro is an excerpt from an instrumental version of No Excuses by Menghan Trainor, overlaid with the hosts repeatedly saying "pew pew" in the spirit of X-wing fighters firing their lasers, and ending with Danny , Saf , and Meg yelling "Pash out!" in unison, with Heath following moments later.

To punctuate the tragic love story between Myn Donos and Gara/Lara/Kirney, this episode ended with an excerpt from an electronic cover of Across the Stars , the love theme from Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones , covered by a band calling itself Galactic Empire. The excerpt used in this episode begins approximately 1:03 into the original track. Listen on YouTube

Sax scene music[]

For certain saucy dramatic readings, Danny splices in saxophone covers of appropriate music to add mood and flavor to the passage in question. These tend to be covers of romantic, dramatic, or otherwise sappy songs.
